Inclusion Specialist
The Inclusion Specialist will increase the capacity and quality of child care spaces for children with special needs through training home visits, education, resources and collaboration with organizations serving children with special needs.
- Basic understanding of service systems and supports to families who have children with special needs
- Work directly with families who are challenged with accessing quality care due to the child’s special needs or disability
- Coordinate 2 Project Exceptional Trainings in cooperation with partners with previous commitment to Project Exceptional
- Provide mentoring, resources, and support to child care providers within the capacity of applicants education, experience, and role
- Coordinate resources for families, providers, and staff that is up to date, non-duplicative, and in collaboration with partners and utilize specified materials and resources in outreach, public awareness, and education
- Actively participate in all Inclusive Child Care Action Team (ICCAT) meetings and report activities, progress, achievements, and challenges in meeting project goals
- Maintain accurate data to document activities, define progress and determine efficacy
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or related fields with a minimum 2 years related experience in child development with some education or experience in special needs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners, parents, and providers from diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Bilingual English/Spanish
